Later, the activity expands from year to year, as well as processing capacities, so that now the activity is based on the purchase, production, processing and sale of fruits: strawberry, cherry, plum, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry. Today, this company is engaged in the purchase, production, processing and sale of fresh and frozen cultivated fruits, forest fruits and mushrooms. A new brand was created – “Artfood” products.
Fungo Jug doo is a certified food producer and since 2005 operates in accordance with the principles of the quality system ISO 2001: 2008 within which the principles of the HACCP system are integrated and is a certified food producer. In its production complex, the company has 4 refrigerators with storage chambers around 4,700.0 m3 of capacity, ie about 1,500 tons of storage space (depending on the type of goods stored) and a daily deep-freezing capacity of about 50 tons of goods. Also, this company has a solid fleet of light delivery vehicles equipped with refrigeration devices for the delivery of goods and has an optimal geographically distributed network of purchase points, from which fruits and mushrooms are purchased, which contributes to the export of frozen products around 3,000 tons per year.

COMPANY HISTORY

The geographical position and climatic conditions of the Jablanica district make it favorable
the ambience of this region for the development of different types of fruits and forest fruits.
Fungo Jug d.o.o. is a company engaged in the purchase, production, processing and sale of agricultural and forestry products. It was founded in 1990 as a joint venture with Serbian-Italian capital, and at that time there were 5 full-time employees. It now has over 50 full-time workers and about 50-100 seasonal workers. The owners and founders are: Dragoslav Jovanović from Čukljenik, near Leskovac, a long-term director of the company until his retirement, and Roberto Miatello from Italy, who is one of the owners of the company Eric S.R.L. From Italy.
The processing center is located in the village of Čukljenik, 15 km from Leskovac.
For the first 10 years, the company’s activity was mainly based on the purchase, processing and sale of forest mushrooms: porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, black trumpets …

 

Brand
Recognizability

As already mentioned, the company Fungo-Jug is developing the Artfood brand within its business.
The Artfood brand was created in 2010 and is protected by the Intellectual Property Office. Under the brand “Artfood”, the company produces various categories of final products: fruit juices, smoothies, fruit syrups, compotes, jams with fructose and stevia, products in oil, fruits and mushrooms in small packages, fruit teas, dried products. These products are distributed through health food wholesalers. In order to make our products better available to future customers, a website (www.artfood.rs) was created. In the last five years, there has been an export of these products to Macedonia, Hungary, Montenegro, France and Australia.

 

Technology.
Production

The company also owns and leases long-term fruit plantations in an area of about 15 ha in the village of Lapotinec, near Bojnik. There is a blackberry orchard and a cherry orchard. Arterial wells with a drip system were built on most of the plots under the orchards, for the purpose of timely irrigation. Also, from a few years ago, plots with pears, apples and cherries, with an area of about 60 hectares, were leased from the city of Leskovac for 10 years.
The company belongs to the category of predominant exporters of agricultural and forest products. It is engaged in the processing and sale of deep-frozen fruits and forest products for industrial use. There is a business cooperation with individual customers of 25 and more years, with whom business activities are agreed before the start of the upcoming season. Through the Horec distributor, the company supplies deep-frozen products to hotels and restaurants in Serbia.
